KANEOHE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Four people from Kaneohe are under arrest in connection with an identity theft probe that began back in November. Police say the suspects were able to make thousands of dollars worth of fraudulent purchases using other people's personal information.

Heavily-armed officers stormed the house on Duncan Drive at about 3:30 pm Tuesday. Police then removed evidence, including computer equipment, a television set and other items that the suspects allegedly purchased.

Officers say they also found crystal methamphetamine and marijuana inside the home.

Investigators say the scheme started with a stolen vehicle in Waipahu last November. The auto theft victim left confidential information inside the car.

Police say over the last couple of months, at least half a dozen people had their identities stolen and credit card accounts opened in their names.

Officers arrested Nathan Hoapili, Gary Hoapili and Henry Hoapili on suspicion of unauthorized control of personal and confidential information. Deanna Rezentes was taken into custody on outstanding traffic warrants.

The suspects have not been charged.
