Hawaii Community Foundation

Established in 1916, the Hawaii Community Foundation is one of the oldest community foundations in the United States, ranking among the top 40 largest community foundations in the nation. Last year, the Hawaii Community Foundation was honored to be included in Philanthropy 400, an annual ranking of community foundations, by the Chronicle of Philanthropy.

The Hawaii Community Foundation distributes more than $30 million in grants each year and is the second largest post-secondary scholarship provider in Hawaii. Since 1994, the Foundation has awarded $39 million in scholarship dollars.

This year, Hawaii News Now is proud to be partnering with the Foundation again, in hopes of helping even more students, and finding new donors who want to help. Watch for profiles each Friday in February on Hawaii News Now Sunrise, 5:30pm, and 10pm.

So how can it help you?

The Foundation's scholarship program consists of over 150 different scholarship funds established by generous and caring individuals, families, businesses or organizations to assist Hawaii's residents in obtaining college educations or vocational training. Some of the funds are part of the Hawaii Community Foundation while some represent private foundations that have asked the Foundation to administer their scholarships. Once students apply, they can, if eligible, receive awards from one or more of these funds.

Online applications are now being accepted.
