HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The UH men's volleyball team got off to a good start against UCLA Thursday night. Hawaii seemed to be coasting, but somewhere along the way, the Warriors' wagon lost its wheels.

Coach Al Skates and the Bruins came in ranked 4th. Hawaii is 6th.

In Game 1, UH was up by a point when Matthew Rawson picks up one of his seven kills. The Warriors won the opening set 30-27.

That's when the wheels started to wobble. Freshman Jonas Umlauft lead the Warriors with 16 kills, but he gets rejected on this play. The man from Munich hit just .179 for the match.

Hawaii lost Sets 2 and 3.

At match point, another Bruins block.

UCLA storms back to win three sets to one. 27-30, 30-25, 30-26 and 30-25 are the final scores.

"Well we just gotta remember who we are when we play well and I think we got away from who we are a little bit," said Hawaii head coach Charlie Wade. "We didn't look quite the same as the last couple weeks when we've been playing well. So we'll get back and focus on things we do well."

The rematch is Friday night at 7:00 PM at the Stan Sheriff Center. If you can't make it, catch it live on KFVE.
