HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - University of Hawaii point guard Dwain Williams has been suspended indefinitely by UH coach Bob Nash for violating team rules.

Williams is quoted as saying he was suspended because he missed a class.

Nash told Hawaii News Now he is not at liberty to discuss the reason for the suspension.

"It's always disappointing when you have to suspend a player and that's not an idea that I really relish, but there are certain standards that you have to meet and when those standards are breached, then you have to take action and the action I've taken is I've suspended him indefinitely," Nash said.

"This thing is a two pronged deal. There's a student. There's an athlete. And you have to take care of both actions to be able to be successful at this level," Nash added.

Nash said the suspension could last any length of time.

The Rainbows play Fresno State Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
