State legislators take steps to boost classroom days

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii senate passed a bill Wednesday requiring all public schools, including charter schools, to implement a minimum of two hundred days of classroom instruction per school year.

Currently there are only 163 instructional days because of Furlough Fridays instead of the usual 180 like most districts across the U.S.

The bill now goes to the House.
