HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Six Hawaii charities will benefit from a woman's kind heart. Ruth Clark Little was born in New Jersey, but moved to Hawaii in 1956. She passed away a year ago and left $5 million to six non-profit organizations, including the Hawaiian Humane Society, the Hawaii chapters of the Red Cross, the National Kidney Foundation, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, American Cancer Society and the Salvation Army. Each touched her life and they will get $825,000 each. Her will stated the money must stay in Hawaii.
