Police arrest suspect in Kahala beating case

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu Police arrested 19-year-old Zachary Robinson late Thursday in connection with a beating incident early Thursday morning that left two Kahala residents in critical condition. Robinson will face charges of first and second degree attempted murder and first degree attempted robbery.

Police suspect Robinson of entering the Kahala home of 85-year-old Mary Lee Koskinen at around 3:00 AM Thursday and severely beating her and her 40-year-old caretaker Matthew Edmondson. Both remain in critical condition at the Queens Medical Center.

The arrest came shortly before 12:00 AM Friday. Police will hold a press conference at 2:30 PM Friday to discuss the case.
