Hawaii Self Storage offers college scholarships

HONOLULU – Hawaii Self Storage (HSS) is accepting applications for their college scholarship program. HSS will offer 12 qualified Oahu public high school students $1,000 scholarships renewable annually for up to $4,000 toward their college education. Deadline for applications is February 12, 2010.

Scholarships are available to students in high schools located near Hawaii Self Storage's five locations: Salt Lake, Pearl City, Kaimuki, Mililani and Kapolei. Eligible students can receive a $1,000 renewable scholarship for a maximum of two years toward an associate degree and up to four years for a bachelor's degree. To date, Hawaii Self Storage has committed more than $200,000 nearly 60 scholarships in the past four years.

To qualify for the scholarship, students must be graduating seniors from one of the following public high schools: Aiea, Farrington, Pearl City, Kaimuki, Kalani, Kapolei, Mililani, Moanalua, Radford, Waipahu, McKinley and Leilehua. Students also must be Hawaii residents formally accepted into or enrolled in a recognized degree program at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher education and be enrolled full-time with a minimum of 12 credits per semester or the minimum number of credits required by the degree program to apply. To renew the scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 each year.

All interested and eligible students must complete and submit the required application form and essay to Hawaii Self Storage by February 12, 2010.
