Good Things: City Mill & Special Olympics, Pali Lanes, Michelle Wie

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - City Mill and Special Olympics Hawaii want you to "open your heart." Starting January 14 for one month, City Mill employees will be raising funds and awareness for Hawaii athletes with disabilities. Shoppers are also encouraged to make $1 donations. Their names will be on display throughout the store. Last year City Mill employees raised more than $12,000 for uniforms and equipment.

After closing for nearly a month, bowling is back at Pali Lanes. The 24-lane facility in Kailua re-opens January 14. The new lease means it will be open for at least another two and half years with new management. For the first 4 days, Pali Lanes will be open only during the evenings. After that, it's open day and night, seven days a week.

A reunion of Punahou grads at the White House. Michelle Wie and the rest of the US Solheim Cup Team met president Obama January 13 in the oval office. Wie and her teamates are on a two-day tour of the nation's capital as part of the celebration of the team's victory over Europe back in August.
