Police seeking second suspect in North Shore shooting

SUNSET BEACH (HawaiiNewsNow) – Police arrested and released a 23-year-old man in connection with a Monday night shooting incident. They continue to search for a second suspect, described as a male in his twenties.

Investigators say two men were waiting in a car at Waialee Beach Park to complete a drug deal at around 6:45 with a known associate. As the victims waited, another male appeared from the darkness and an argument started. One of the suspects fired three shots at the victims, striking the driver in the ankle. The victims quickly reversed from the area and drove to the Sunset Beach fire station for help.

The 23-year-old was later arrested at his home and booked on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder. Police have released him pending further investigation.
