HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - To help kick off the new year, Kate Gosselin has given her old haircut the boot and picked up some extensions. She tells People magazine, "It's good to have hair again. I never thought I'd have short hair for as long as I did. I feel like this is a fresh start, a fresh me, a fresh life... I've got it. I am now Kate Clean Slate."

Netflix's 11 million subscribers will have to wait nearly an extra month to rent the latest movies by Warner Bros. Under an agreement announced Wednesday, Netflix's DVD-by-mail service won't send out Warner Bros.' latest DVD and Blu-ray discs during the first 28 days after they hit the market.

Actor Gary Coleman was hospitalized Wednesday after complaining of not feeling well. His agent says he had a mild seizure, but he may remain hospitalized for 24 hours. Coleman has had two kidney transplants and is best known for his role as Arnold Jackson in the 1980s series, Diff'rent Strokes.

James Cameron's Avatar opened with $4.8 million in sales in China earlier this week. Early predictions are that it will surpass the $67 million made by the movie 2012 in China. The average movie in China brings in about $14.6 million.
