HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The city that never sleeps edges out Mickey Mouse and gambling to attract tourists. New York City was the top tourist destination in America last year. For the first time since 1990. The honor has gone to Orlando or Las Vegas for the past 19 years. The number of tourists visiting the Big Apple actually fell almost four percent last year. But Sin City and Orlando took greater hits to their tourism rates, making New York the winner for 2009.

There are sports enthusiasts, and then there are sports enthusiasts! How would you like to play a round of golf in the freezing snow? These golfers had no problem playing the ruff in the white stuff. 78 hard-core golfers took part in the 46th Annual Eskimo Open at Cog Hill in Lemont, Illinois. Players had their choice of playing either a full 18-hole course, or just 9-holes.

The traditional New Years concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra took place over the weekend. With television and radio broadcasts in more than 72 countries, the New Year's concert in terms of its international coverage is the largest classical music event in the world.
