LOS ANGELES (HawaiiNewsNow) - Not since Jason Gesser in 2003 has a Hawaii high school graduate been the starting quarterback in the Rose Bowl. Today Jeremiah Masoli looked to become the first ever to win what's been called the "Grand Daddy" of all bowl games.
Masoli's Ducks met Ohio State in the 96th Rose Bowl Game and after falling behind 16-10, the former Crusader takes it in on the QB keeper.
That's his 13th rushing score of the year and it gives Oregon their first lead of the game 17-16.
But OSU has Terryl Pryor and he's pretty special too. In the 4th, Pryor keeps the play alive with a nice touch pass and a great grab by Jake Ballard.
And that would lead to this, with 7-minutes remaining Devier Posey's grab clinches Ohio State's first Rose Bowl win since 1997, 26-17 is the final.
