NEW YORK (HawaiiNewsNow) - The headliner for the Pro Bowl in South Florida this year will be Brett Favre. Favre leads the NFL with a league best for quarterbacks by making his 11th appearance. The 40 year old has lead the Vikings to the playoffs. Favre came out of retirement for the second time so that he could play for Minnesota this year. There are a total of eight Vikings on this season's NFC roster.
After Favre, the quarterback with the most pro bowl invites is the Colts Peyton Manning who has made it for the tenth time. Manning and 5 of his team mates will be suiting up for the AFC. Manning will start against the Saints Drew Brees for the January 31st game. Brees is the NFL's top rated passer. Favre is listed as Brees back up.
For the first time the Pro Bowl is scheduled a week before the Super Bowl at Dolphin Stadium. So player who qualify for the Super Bowl will not play in the Pro Bowl. It's not clear if that scheduling set up will be continued next year but the All Star game is set to return to Hawaii in 2011 and 2012. The Pro Bowl was held at the Aloha Stadium the past 30 years.
Other 2010 All Stars include the following the Titans Chris Johnson who is the league's leading rusher, the Patriots Wes Welker who is the NFL receptions leader, the Vikings Adrian Peterson who is the NFL's leading scorer, and the 49ers Patrick Willis who is the NFL's leading tackler with 147 on the season.
