HILO, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Hilo man is in custody Tuesday after Hawaii island police arrested him for numerous offenses related to credit card and identity theft. 25-year-old Richard Oili-Sanchez is charged with one count of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information, seven counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, seven counts of theft and seven counts of third-degree identity theft.

Police say Oili-Sanchez used a stolen debit card at several retail locations and an ATM on the windward side of Hawaii island. In October, investigators released surveillance photos which they say led to his identification as the suspect in the thefts.

Police credit the public for their help in identifying Oili-Sanchez from the photos. He is being at the Hilo Police cellblock in lieu of $18,250 bail.
