Two drown in separate incidents on Kauai

KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two mainland visitors died in separate drowning incidents on Kauai Monday. In Poipu, a snorkeler was found face down at Waiohai Bay at around 1:00 PM. The 20-year-old man from North Carolina was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Then just about 25 minutes later rescuers in Kilauea swam out to save two men from Oregon. Both were swimming at Kauapea Beach, also known as Secret Beach, when a current swept them out. A surfer retrieved a 32-year-old man, but couldn't reach his 41-year-old brother in time.
