Some tips when returning gifts

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Here are some tips on what you'll need to keep in mind when you return gifts.

Wal-mart has one of the most accommodating return policies. They'll give you a cash refund on any purchase less than 25 dollars, no receipt required.

If the item you received costs more than 25 dollars, you'll get a refund in the form of a gift card.

Target's return policy is a bit more strict. You need to have a receipt less than 90-days-old for an exchange or cash refund. If you have a gift receipt, you'll be able to exchange the item for a gift card.

Macy's includes return stickers with most of their items. If you have that sticker, you have 180 days to get a full refund. If you don't have a price tag, a return sticker or a receipt, Macy's says they'll refund you the lowest price the item has recently sold for.

Electronics stores, like Best Buy, have more complicated return policies. Things like CDs and DVDs aren't likely to be refunded, but big items like TVs might, under the right circumstances.
