WASHINGTON (HawaiiNewsNow) - The president plans to stay in Washington until the Senate wraps up its work on health care reform.
President Barack Obama said that since senators are making sacrifices to overhaul the health care system, the least he can do is be there to deal with any last-minute issues that may arise.
"I will not leave until my friends in the Senate have completed their work" President Obama said Tuesday.The final Senate vote on its version of the measure is expected to happen on Christmas Eve day at 8:00 AM.
The White House announced Tuesday that the President and his family are expected to arrive in Hawaii on Christmas Eve.
