HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Musicians from the Honolulu symphony stood side-by-side to make an announcement --- the show must go on. They've decided to stick together and push forward with no contract and no funds. They say they want to ensure that a professional quality orchestra remains available to the people of Hawaii. The musicians have not received a paycheck since mid-october. Aside from legal fees and transportation costs their health insurance was cut off as of November 1st.

"We have new musicians who just moved here and are having a hard time getting by." says Stephen Dinion, chair of the Musician's Association of Hawaii.

They will perform a free concert next Sunday as a gift to the community to help get the word out. They have also been hired for the opera's six week season.
