Unexploded ordinance found in Wahiawa

WAHIAWA (HawaiiNewsNow) – One lane of Wilikina Drive in Wahiawa was closed Wednesday afternoon after workers found an unexploded ordnance piece near the McComb gate at Schofield Barracks. The piece is described as a M203, a 44mm round that is fired from a launcher. The ordinance was described as old and rusty.

Military officials safely removed the ordnance piece. The Honolulu-bound lane of Wilikina remains closed as investigators continue to work the scene.
