EHUKAI (HawaiiNewsNow) –
For whatever reason Sunny Garcia missed his heat time this morning for day one of the Pipeline Masters. His late arrival, now puts his run at this year's Triple Crown title in jeopardy. But Garcia did convince Kauai surfer Evan Valiere for his first alternate spot. But the chances he'll get in are slim, someone has to either get hurt or withdraw before round three.
Making matters worse for Garcia, the final jewel is already halfway thru round two. Coming into this event, he was second in the standings to Australian Joel Parkinson.
