PAIA, Maui (HawaiiNewsNow)- Baldwin Beach and Hookipa Beach parks re-opened Wednesday. Officials closed both parks Monday morning due to the extreme high surf conditions.
At Baldwin Beach Park, the lifeguard tower was moved 150 ft. inland on Monday to prevent damage to the tower.
No injuries or incidents have been reported by ocean safety officers. The high surf is expected to diminish somewhat over the next two days, but the public is still advised to use caution.
