HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The state football tournament for 2009 goes to two ILH schools. In the division one final, Kamehameha defeated Kahuku 34-21.
The Warriors lead from start to finish, ahead 20-0 at the half. Kamehameha running back Ryan Ho lead the way on the ground with 121 yards and two touchdowns. Offensively Ho was complimented by Kamehameha quarterback TC Campbell who threw for 183 yard and three scores.
It's the Warriors second state crown and first since 2004. It also marks the first state title win for Kamehameha head coach David Strant, Jr.
The division two title went to Iolani for the third year in a row. Iolani beat Kauai 24-17 in the earlier game at the Aloha Stadium. The game was tied at halftime 10-all.
The Raiders got their tie breaking touchdown from Ammon Baldomero who got in the end zone with a three yard touchdown run. Baldomero ran for 108 yards on 34 carries.
