Leeward residents asked to conserve water Friday night

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Board of Water Supply (BWS) is asking all residents from Honokai Hale to Makaha to conserve water overnight on Friday, December 4 between 7:00 PM and 9:00 AM Saturday as crews work to replace a broken valve. The BWS is asking that residents to use water sparingly and for priority needs only, such as cooking, drinking and personal hygiene.

Earlier in the week, Leeward residents were asked to conserve water after a private contractor working on a 24-inch main accidentally ruptured it on Tuesday morning. The repair work caused major traffic tie-ups on Farrington Highway.

This work is unrelated to that incident and no road closures are anticipated.
