Good Things: New Hope youth choir, Donation campaign, Saving life award

Posted: Updated:

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Another sign that Christmas time is here! The New Hope youth choir is putting on the musical "It's a wonderful life." It's of course based on the classic holiday movie about a man who realizes how valuable life is thanks to his guardian angel. The show runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend and the next at Farrington high school.

A holiday donation campaign is helping windward schools struggling with budget cuts. The organization "community helping schools" is collecting school supplies through December 15. The donations will be delivered before winter break. You can check out wish lists from all the schools at communityhelpingschools.com.

A Michigan cub scout has just received a national award for helping save his grandfather's life. Last summer Robby's grandfather fell off a four-wheeler while the two were hunting deep in the forest. Robby couldn't lift him, so the nine-year cub scout drove the four-wheeler several miles to the highway and flagged down a postal worker who called for help. Hospital officials say if Robby's grandfather had gotten help any later he would have died.
