Toys for Tots has also extended their drop-off point at the Pearl Ridge Toys-R-Us store through Wednesday to give those in Leeward Oahu a more convenient drop-off site.
Volunteers from The Salvation Army are there from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM Tuesday to accept donations, and will also be there from 9:00 AM until noon Wednesday. The collection effort must end by then in order to get all the toy donations distributed before Christmas.
As of Monday evening, the drive was nearly 18,000 toys short of its goal of collecting 45,000 toys, all of which go to make the holidays brighter for Hawaii's less-fortunate keiki. The greatest need at present is for gifts for 7-11 year old girls, and 11-teenage girls. Every toy and every dollar collected here in Hawaii stays here.
