HONOLULU (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - The Great Aloha Run isn't until February, but they're kicking things off with a bang to encourage runners to sign up early. Organizer Carole Kai joined Sunrise on Thursday morning to talk about the upcoming event.

The early entry deadline is Friday, December 4.
The Downtown KICK-OFF is on Thursday, December 3 at Pioneer Plaza (Fort Street Mall between Pioneer Plaza and Bank of Hawaii) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone who signs up gets their FREE In Training T-shirt and 2010 Planner THAT DAY. First 300 to sign up gets a Kaiser Permanente sports bag, water bottle and neoprene armband that fits an MP3 player.
The event is FREE and includes the following:
- Entertainment by the Polynesian Cultural Center and Sonya Mendez.
- Enjoy free Cupcakes from Hokulani Bake Shop
- Try out Meadow Gold's newest drink -- Power POG. It will be given at the finish line of the Kaiser Permanente Great Aloha Run.
- The International Institute of Massage will be there to do Chair Massages for those who come down.
