Good Things: Vanpool Hawaii, Blind soccer championships

Posted: Updated:

HONOLULU (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - Vanpool Hawaii reached a milestone this week: 300 rideshare groups on Oahu! Each group has seven people who carpool every weekday into Honolulu in a van. To mark the occasion, the director of Vanpool Hawaii surprised one lucky group with a brand new 2010 Toyota Cienna!

The blind soccer championships kicked off in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aries. Visually impaired soccer players used a specially-designed ball that has ball bearings in it so it makes a sound when it rolls. All of the players, except the goalies, are blindfolded so those who can see better than others don't have an advantage. In the first match, Brazil defeated Uruguay 4-0. Later, Argentina defeated Paraguay 2-0.
