HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are investigating the discovery of a body that washed up on shore early Sunday morning.
Bystanders found the woman lying face down in the sand at the Ala Moana Beach Park just before seven. They say she was a homeless woman.
A witness who was heading out to do some stand-up paddling heard the commotion in the area and went to investigate.
As I got out to use the restroom, I noticed that there was a body lying right there and about a couple minutes after that, HPD, fire rescue, and EMTs showed up," said witness Jason Bringas.
So far the woman's identity has not been released. Police say foul play is not suspected.
