Good Things: Thanksgiving donation, Lucky turkey, Winning rugby kick

Posted: Updated:

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - This Thanksgiving more families are going hungry in Hawaii. So a group of HMSA employees have challenged each other to collect food and cash. So far they have donated nearly $18,000 as well as 5,000 pounds of canned goods. The number of families looking for assistance from the Hawaii Food Bank has tripled since last year.

Right now you're looking at what may be the luckiest turkey in the world. This bird is heading to the White House not for dinner but a presidential pardon. The 40-pounder named 'Courage' will then go on to California to lead the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Courage will then have a lovely life, retiring to a small farm in Disneyland.

And in jolly old England, a rugby fan got the thrill of his life when against all odds. He made a kick from 30-yards out for $420,000! The man was chosen from the crowd at halftime and his kick hit the crossbar, but then barely went over and through the posts. When it was all over he even got to go out for a beer with his favorite rugby team.
