HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - It's no secret that the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team dominate the WAC, but there was further proof at the WAC banquet Sunday night, where the 'Bows swept the three major award categories.
Let's begin with Kanani Danielson. The Sophomore won the WAC player of the year award, marking the 14th straight season that a Wahine has taken home the hardware.
Danielson is averaging more than four kills and two digs per set this season.
But that's not the only award Hawaii hauled in. Middle blocker Brittany Hewitt was named the freshman of the year. And no shock here, Dave Shoji was selected as the coach of the year.
But we don't stop there. Seven 'Bows were selected to the all-WAC teams.
Danielson, Aneli Cubi-Otineru, Amber Kaufman and Dani Mafua were named to the 1st team, while Stephanie Ferrell, Liz Ka'aihue, and Hewitt made the 2nd team.
