HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A high surf advisory is in effect for north and west shores of Kauai and Niihau and for north facing shores of Oahu, Molokai, and Maui. This advisory will remain in effect until 6:00 AM Tuesday.
Surf along affected shores of Kauai, Niihau and Oahu will be 15 to 20 feet Monday. Molokai and Maui will see wave heights of 12 to 18 feet.
A storm that was near the Aleutian Islands several days ago generated a large northwest swell that will peak Monday. Surf will decrease Tuesday but may still be near the advisory level throughout the day Tuesday.
