Local celebrities lend a hand for McHappy Day

HONOLULU (HAWAIINEWSNOW) -

Today celebrities from across the state are lending their hands to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) as part of McHappy Day, formerly known as World Children's Day. For each Extra Value Meal® that is purchased on November 20, McDonald's will donate $1 to RMHC. McDonald's across the state will have "Give a Hand" flyers being sold by our crew and celebrity volunteers for a $1 donation to RMHC Hawaii.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a home-away-from-home where neighbor island families and families from Guam, Saipan and other Pacific islands can stay while their children undergo vital medical treatments only available in Honolulu. Three locations serve our local families' needs - the Oahu Avenue House, the Judd Hillside House, and the family room at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.

Since the inaugural World Children's Day in 2002, McDonald's and its patrons around the world have raised more than $150 million to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities and other vital children's causes. Locally, McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii has raised more than $300,000 for RMHC of Hawaii since 2002.
