Restaurant Week Hawaii: Great specials for a good cause

Eat out for a good cause! That's what restaurant owners and the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head are telling people to do in support of the 2nd annual Restaurant Week Hawaii. Set to take place from November 16-22, restaurant owners are banding together by offering special menu items, promotions and discounts to encourage customers to eat out and dine at new restaurants or old favorites.

Dating back to 1992, the Restaurant Week concept, which is a nationwide initiative, has proven to be successful over the years in encouraging couples, families and friends to dine out. In addition, the unique thing about Restaurant Week Hawaii is that a portion of the proceeds from this weeklong event will support the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head, which has cultivated the careers of island chefs Alan Wong and Sam Choy.
