Friendly monk seal is having cataract surgery

Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) - A monk seal that is nearly blind is having cataract surgery this spring in California according to a news report.

The seal, known as KP2 was abandoned by its mother, raised in captivity, then released and captured again when it started getting too friendly with beach goers on Molokai.

The 18-month-old seal will return to Sea Life Park after surgery.
