Heavy rain, high surf likely for isles through late tonight

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A storm is sitting north of the state with heavy rain and thunderstorms likely through Friday.  Flash flooding is also possible with drier conditions due back next week.

The big storm is forecast to slowly move west and might drop south over the state through Saturday. 

There were scattered passing showers Wednesday with some downpours on the south side of the Big Island.

Its mostly cloudy Wednesday night with scattered showers along with possible thunderstorms and gusty trade winds. 

Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers Thursday. Possible thunderstorms with heavy rain is expected to linger statewide. 

A high surf advisory is posted for east shores while north shores will get a solid wrap. 

A flash flood watch is posted through Thursday and it will be mostly cloudy tomorrow with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. Flooding is possible. Drier conditions are due in by Monday.
