Flags to fly at half-staff through Tuesday in Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii is honoring those killed in the Ft. Hood shooting, by flying flags at half-staff throughout the state.

Lieutenant Governor Duke Aiona gave the order, following the President's lead today for federal buildings.

"We must always honor our service men and women, who risk their lives every day to protect the liberty and freedom we have as American citizens," said Lt. Governor Aiona. "This senseless act of violence saddens us all, and our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victims."

Flags will fly at half-staff at all state buildings through Tuesday. The state is also asking businesses and families to do the same.
