Boy hit by car in Kalihi

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A boy was struck by a car near the corner of North School Street and Kamehameha IV Road in Kalihi around 4:30 PM Thursday. He apparently exited a bus and was struck by a car passing alongside the stopped bus.

Sources indicate that the boy was likely between the ages of 10 and 12.

The boy was knocked unconscious in the accident but later regained consciousness. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

This is the third time in the the past three days that a pedestrian has been struck on Oahu. On Tuesday a 79-year-old woman was killed in Moiliili while crossing South King Street in a marked crosswalk. Earlier Tuesday, a man in his thirties was critically injured while crossing Kamehameha Highway in Pearl City.
