WAIPIO (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - The Rainbow Wahine soccer team outscored Utah State in the first half on Sunday night to hang on for the 3-1 victory. UH is now 2-4 in the WAC and with just two conferences matches remaining until the WAC Tournament, they likely need to win both those matches to get into the WAC Tourney.
It was "Senior Night" and it was fitting that senior, Ambree Ako led the team with two goals. Ako is 4th on the UH career scoring list.
Wahine, Kristyn Shapka began the UH scoring with a header in the 1st half, as they took a 1-nil lead. Utah State tied the match up at 1-1. But the Rainbows regained the lead on the first of Ako's two goals.
