HUNTING ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - Lots of fun at Hunting Island State Park this past weekend.
The park celebrated the Lighthouse's 150th anniversary. Many came from all over to climb the historic lighthouse and participate in the weekend's events. It's an event Don Turner says he wouldn't have missed. His grandfather was the first assistant lighouse keeper in 1923.
"It means a lot because there are some new photograph exhibits at the lighthouse that were actually family pictures that I found," said Turner. "So my family pictures are part of the lighthouse exhibits forever, that's exciting for us."
Even if you missed the celebration, the exhibits are still open at the lighthouse.
