PHILADELPHIA (KHNL) - It was a cold and brisk night at Citizens Bank Park, but the Philadelphia Phillies bats were red hot. The Phils didn't waste any time jumping out to an early lead in the 1st inning off Dodgers starter, Hiroki Kuroda. The Phils went on to shutout LA, 11-0.
Ryan Howard staked the Phils to a 2-0 lead with a two-run rbi triple that scored Maui native, Shane Victorino and Chase Utley. The Phils struggled against Kuroda in three regular season starts, going just 6-for-60 against him.
But they reversed that stat by going 6-for-9 against Kuroda, as he went just one and a third innings after giving up six runs on six hits.
With the win, the Phillies take a 2-1 series lead over the Dodgers. That's good news for Phils fans since they're a perfect 6-for-6 in playoff history, after leading a series two games to one.
