HONOLULU (KHNL) - Students at two private schools on Oahu had an "out of this world" visit on Monday.

At Damien Memorial School, NASA astronaut John Herrington gave a speech called "Living Your Dreams."

Herrington went on three space walks as a mission specialist on shuttle Endeavour in 2002.

Also on Monday, four-time space shuttle commander Brian Duffy spoke to students at St. Andrew's Priory school.

He talked about his experiences in orbit between 1992 and 2000.

Duffy also met with St. Andrew's all-girl rocket club members, who built, then launched, a rocket more than 700 feet high.

"Space is a great way to tie them to studying, because we use everything you learn in school to fly in space," said Duffy.

Lockheed Martin sponsored the visit by both astronauts to Oahu to encourage students to pursue science, math and engineering careers.
