HONOLULU (KHNL) - A man suspected of taking part in a July 23rd beating in Makiki that left a 49-year-old man with broken bones, a collapsed lung and a concussion pleaded not guilty to assault Monday.

Corbit Ahn, 29, is already awaiting trial in a high-profile murder case.

He's accused of sexually assaulting and strangling Iris Rodrigues-Kaikana, 18. Her nude body was found in a dirt alley in Kalihi about a month after the Makiki beating.

Ahn's assault trial is tentatively set for November.
