HONOLULU (KHNL) - A man charged in connection with a huge crystal meth seizure in Kalihi last year faces up to 10 years in prison after giving up his court fight.

Romulo Lomboy on Thursday pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of promoting dangerous drugs, as well as possessing drug paraphernalia. He originally was charged with the more serious offense of methamphetamine trafficking.

Police raided his home on Ahonui Street in June 2008, capping a month-long undercover investigation called "Operation Eight Ball." Prosecutors say officers recovered about 2.5 lbs. of ice.

Lomboy is scheduled to be sentenced November 17th.
