HALAWA (KHNL) - The University of Hawaii Warrior football team got out to a slow start in their season opener against the Central Arkansas Bears, but UH was able to come back in the 2nd half to get the win 25-20.
The Warriors trailed 14-9 at the half, but was able to outscore the bears 16-6 in the 2nd half.
Greg Alexander, led the team in passing yards, and rushing yards, completing 21 of 32 passes for 304 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He also piled up 76 yards on the ground, running it 16 times.
However, Greg Salas put up the biggest numbers catching seven balls for 180 yards and a touchdown.
Hawaii now hits the road for three straight games beginning next week against Washington State.
