Oahu man critically injured in head-on collision

NORTH SHORE (KHNL) - Three people are injured, one critically, following a head-on collision on Oahu's North Shore.

It happened on Kamehameha Highway, about two miles north of Helemano reservation road, at about 7:30 Tuesday morning.

Police say a black Acura was traveling towards Haleiwa, when it crossed the center line and slammed into a bronze-colored Honda, traveling in the opposite direction.

Paramedics took the driver of the black car, a 30-year-old man, to the hospital in critical condition.

His 16-year-old female passenger, was in serious, but stable condition.

Investigators say speed, is a factor in the crash.

It's not yet known, if alcohol or drugs played a role.
