HONOLULU (KHNL) - Hawaii lawmakers are mourning the death of Edward Kennedy. That includes Sen. Daniel Inouye. Both men entered the Senate together back in 1962. Sen. Inouye remembered his good friend.
The last time they spoke was ten days ago, when Kennedy asked the Hawaii senator to put an item on the appropriations bill. He says Kennedy was working until the very end. Sen. Inouye says, he'll miss Kennedy's optimism the most.
"And even when things were rough, he smiled. And in our business, most days are not happy days. You always have some problems but he was able to perk us up," said Sen. Inouye.
