HONOLULU (KHNL) - The National Weather Service is continuing a flash flood watch for Oahu, Kauai and Niihau in effect through late Wednesday night.
The watch for Maui County was cancelled.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Flash flooding kills many people every year.
There will be a threat of heavy rainfall and flash flooding today and tonight as moisture associated with the remnants of Felicia slowly move across the islands from east to west.
People in flood prone areas need to prepare now for the possibility of torrential rains associated with Felicia. Rock and mudslides are also possible once the heavy rain begins. Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding.
Please monitor later updates on the situation, and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
