MANOA (KHNL) - The Rainbow Wahine volleyball team opens up their 2009 campaign with their first fall practice of the year, as they look to continue their tradition of success.
With just over three weeks until the team's opener against Western Michigan, UH has no time to waste.
Before the 'Bows even reach conference play, they'll face nine teams that made last year's NCAA tournament, including NCAA runner-up Stanford The Wahine are hoping for a fast start to the year.
"I think that it's very important, I mean with our conference we need to make sure we take care of business there but as soon as we get to postseason we need to have a good ranking and not come in from the lowest and not work so hard to get back to the top, so I think with this wonderful schedule we have if we can pull some wins from that, it'll really help us out in the end," said outside hitter Kanani Danielson.
The Wahine play their first math on Friday, August 28th against Western Michigan.
