KANEOHE (KHNL) - Windward Oahu residents saw bursts of rainfall Monday. There was a brief downpour on the H-3 Freeway in Kaneohe shortly before 1 pm.

During a break in the rain, Charles Shank prepared for Tropical Storm Felicia by using additional ropes to secure his 40-foot boat at Kaneohe Yacht Club. He says when it comes to Mother Nature, it's better to be safe than sorry.

"We added some extra bumpers that you can see here on the side. I just want to make sure that any surge, it responds," Shank said. "So our hope is that the storm is not going to be that bad, but you never know."

Others on the pier weren't too concerned about Felicia. Several children spent the day fishing.
